A highly anticipated performance this year is from Melawen Collective, based in Ashcroft BC.
The Melawmen Collective was formed in 2009, with a mandate to create connections between Aboriginal People and others through stories, history and culture ~ contemporary and traditional~ by way of various forms of art and music. It endeavors to create connections between contemporary and traditional forms of aboriginal art and artists (as well as between aboriginal artists, Indigenous and non-aboriginal), to bring perspectives together to create collaborations with one another, through art, music, and workshops.
