Professional Comedy Featuring Simon King

He has clearly made quite a name for himself, and you get the opportunity to see him live in Prince George!

Limelight Quest Reunion

What's better than watching one Limelight winner perform? How about four?!

Thats right Shiraz Cafe & Limelight Quest are pleased to present a Winners Reunion Show!

Former winners of the Limelight Quest competition have joined together to entertain Shiraz audiences.

There will be two seatings for this event, so book your reservation to see your favourite performers.

On Thursday July 13th At 6:00pm, Trisha McCreery, Arilynne Barks, Caitriona Hogan, and Dan Johnson will be performing and at 8:00pm Selina Bomberger, Lorna-Jane Simmons, Paige Marriott, and Jaymie Walker are taking the stage

Admission is free and cash donations will be collected.

These singers are all very talented so it is sure to be a fabulous night.

British Columbia Wildfires

As many of you are aware of by now, British Columbia has been in a state of emergency  as of July 8th due to the numerous wildfires throughout the province.

Prince George has set up a headquarters for evacuees at the College of New Caledonia. For those of you coming from a part of province affected by fire you are requested to register first at the reception centre at the College of New Caledonia, which is located along Highway 97 just north of the intersection with Highway 16. The address for the College of New Caledonia is 3330 22 Avenue in Prince George, or view directions to the location in the image below. Registration is set up in the atrium at the college right at the main entrance, and then you will be helped with finding lodging.

For residents wanting to help you can donate to the BC Fire Appeal the Canadian Red Cross at https://goo.gl/6KBgtr. Although donations of food and clothing are kind, it can cause more difficulties than be helpful, so the city asks that you stick to monetary donations

Downtown Summerfest

Downtown Prince George's Summerfest is back for another year with even more entertainment, activities, and of course...food! 

Join thousands on July 16th in front of City Hall to participate in kids activities, grab a bite to eat from the food pavilion, and take in live entertainment from talented local bands. 

You can experience mystical magic with Dr Von Houligan's Carnival of Calamities , ride a train, play games, shop at the exhibitor alley, or check out the butterfly house.

Everything starts at 11am and events will going on until 5pm. Summerfest is always a hit, and this year will be no exception.

A New Arts Centre

Have you heard of the Omineca Arts Centre yet? Well if you haven't… you should definitely check it out. The centre is the latest cultural addition to Prince George. Located in the heart of downtown it has already hosted many art exhibits, conferences, concerts, and more.

"The Omineca Studio is a dynamic and versatile space for artists, performers, musicians and authors and poets alike. The open, storefront studio space is accommodating for exhibitions, events, workshops, performances, screenings, gatherings and readings".

The centre is  equally a place for artists of all types to showcase their work locally, and for residents to appreciate the talent that comes to, or lives in, Prince George.

Pride 2017

From July 6th to July 8th join the Prince George Pride Society as they host the largest pride celebrations in Northern BC.

On the 6th, at 7PM, head over to the Westwood Pub for the first ever Prince George Pride Pub Night (19+). Tickets are $20 each and includes a burger, fries, and a drink, along with many games and prizes. Tickets can be purchased at the Pine Center TD Bank or Online at https://pgpride.tickit.ca/

On the 8th, join in with the downtown Pride Parade festivities! Celebrations kick off at 10:00am and the Prince George Pride Parade leaving Veteran's Plaza at 11:00am. This free family event will have entertainment, food, market vendors, and kids activities going on until 3PM.

Anne of Green Gables

Judy Russell is back with another musical this summer! Running from July 18-29th at the Prince George Playhouse is the classic tale of an orphan girl : Anne of Green Gables.

"Rising from destitution to happiness in the farm country, Anne journeys through different adventures, both comical and heartwarming. Originating in Canada, the play left capacity audiences there to journey to London, where it opened to acclaim. It has since been revered by audiences and critics alike in New York, Tokyo, Stockholm, and Toronto. The original novel was written by L.M. Montgomery and has sold 50 million copies worldwide".

Tickets are $40.00 for Adults/ $35.00 for Children 18 & Under. You can purchase tickets at tickets.centralinteriortickets.com or at 3540 Opie Crescent.

This event is for all ages, with doors opening 30 mins before each performance. The runtime is 95 mins with a 20 min intermission. Performances are held at 7pm, along with one 2:00pm performance on July 22nd.

Volunteers Needed!

Hay Fever Music Festival is in need of some volunteers from July 21st-23rd. Help out this awesome festival, and in turn get a free weekend pass along with free meals! 

This festival features many talented bluegrass, folk, and roots musicians such as Rachelle Van Zanten, Frontal Lobotomy, and Folky Strum Strum. This all takes place just a few hours outside of Prince George in Grassy Plains, BC. 

This is a great opportunity to both help out a Northern BC festival, and to experience a festival yourself for no cost.
