A BIT ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
------------------------------------------
Girls Rock Camp North is a volunteer-run, week-long summer program for self-identified girls and non-binary youth aged 9-17 operating out of Prince George, BC from August 20-24, 2018. By encouraging girls and non-binary youth to take space with their voices and instruments, we empower them with the confidence to advocate for themselves and express their individuality. Campers participate in instrument instruction, workshops, and band practice where they collaborate with their band and write an original song. They learn skills such as Song Writing, Zine and Poster Making, Gear Set-Up, Technical Training and more! Celebrating National Indigenous Day at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park

What a wonderful day spent at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park.  Prince George celebrated the opening of the Pavilion.  There was plaques displayed.  There were drummers such as the Lheidli T'enneh Men's Drum Group, the Khast'an Drummers, the Old Fort Traditional Dancers, the Lake Babine Performers.  There were vendors selling food such as kettle popcorn, mini donuts, bannock, and Indian Tacos.  What a delight!  There were other performances such as N'we Jinan (Yekooche), Comedian Mike McGuire, Tracey Peters and Rick Stavely Band.  There was also First Nations vendors that sold lovely dreamcatcher, beaded earrings and a variety of first nations clothing and mocassins.  There will be events continuing until Sunday at the Lheiddli T'enneh Memorial Park.
