White Winter Pizza and Winter Walks on Suppertime

After a few months of intensive of hair washing, map folding, and fridge cleaning, suppertime show can make food again. So time for pizza! This pizza is inspired by the lovely simple yet poignant songs that pair nicely with long dark nighttime walks  around Prince George. Filling, earthy, yet minimal is this pizza and playlist.

For the dough:

4 cups white flour

2 cups warm water

3/4 cup white wine

8 grams of yeast

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp oil

  • combine in a bowl
  • kneed 6 or so times and form a nice ball - dough should be soft and a touch sticky
  • cover with a towel and allow to rise for 30 min

For the sauce:

Simple option 1 -  Garlic infused oil. Infuse oil with garlic by allowing chunks of garlic to party in some oil over low heat for a while

More complex option 2: White wine sauce

  •  combine 2 tbs of flour with 1/4 butter over low heat
  • add 3/4 white wine
  • salt and pepper

Toppings:

500 grams of ricotta cheese, seasoned with salt and pepper

About 2 cups of sauteed mushrooms

Parmesan cheese

Salt and Pepper

Once all your ingredients are ready...make a pizza! This makes a large pizza on a cookie sheet or a few small pizzas. Just put everything on top of the dough.  Not much else to say here...just giver a go!

A playlist:

Peacocks - The Mountain Goats

Love is Colder Than Death - Dean Wareham

Winter Road - Bill Callahan

Le Moulin - Yann Tiersen

Eulogy for You and Me - Tanya Davis

Dogsong 2 - The Be Good Tanyas

The Fog - Moonface

Frozen - Madonna ( Palate Cleanser)

Listen, The Snow Is Falling - Galaxie 500

Snow Days - Real Estate

Have to Explode - The Mountain Goats

Secret Broadcast Disrupts Peace in the East

During your exodus to the big city, it's only natural to catch some trouble from the local authorities at some point.

The Calgary conglomerated band Secret Broadcast moved out to Toronto a while ago and have been making waves on big radio. While wedging their heel into the Top 40, the quatro went for a joy ride with a go-pro...

No, that was not a rigged ending :) Good to see they're still getting their kicks in so far from home.

Thanks Eric+ for keeping us up to date
