ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS!  There is a wonderful opportunity at Omineca Arts Centre and Two Rivers Gallery to meet Jay Kimball on Wednesday July 4th, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Jay Kimball is a craft artist who works in a variety of forms centralized around ceramic processes. Kimball discusses his body of work related to pit fired ceramics and the social impacts.

Bulkley Valley Midsummer Festival!

HOW EXCITING! It is the Midsummer Festival's 35th year in Smithers, BC!  CFUR was able to check out Midsummer while the volunteers were setting up for the festival.  The interviews give you a closer look to all the hard work put into it.  Smithers, BC is a small town in Northern, BC. The Prettys are a rock and roll band from Vancouver, B.C. Their first album "Empty Heads"  came out in 2015. The Prettys are promoting their third album called, "Tapas." Cousin Arby plays urban alternative country music and has some top hits such as "Sour Whiskey," "The Resurrection," and "Spaceman." You can listen to them on Youtube or Bandcamp.

About the organization:

The Fire Pit offers a number of services and information to the people accessing the centre and it also includes updated weekly lists of housing, employment and workshops available.  Positive Living North is open from Monday - Friday: 9 am -4:30 pm.
