This Way North at the Legion in PG

This Way North will be playing at the Legion in PG on Saturday July 7th at 9 PM.  

Absorbed in the expansive energy of drummer/vocalist Cat Leahy and guitarist/vocalist Leisha Jungalwalla’s performances, it’s easy to forget that This Way North is a two-piece band. It’s a unique fullness of sound that follows the pair effortlessly from the studio to the stage. 

The release of EP Vol. 2 follows a bustling 2017 during which the duo played over 120 live shows across Australia, New Zealand and Canada including the Dawson City Music Festival in the Yukon, just 200kms south of the Arctic Circle; a spot at Wide Open Space festival, in the Northern Territory’s sweeping central desert; and a trip to stunning Vancouver Island for Atmosphere Gathering. 

Big, rhythmic, spacious and saturated with summer, EP Vol. 2 will have you moving in the blink of a drumbeat, whether you want to or not.

PRIDE Parade in PG & Taste the Rainbow Drag Show

The PG Pride & Festival Parade will take place at the community foundation park at 4 seasons pool lawn space from 11 AM - 3 PM. All venders, participants, and watchers please go there for the parade. Be prepared for weather conditions. 

The Taste the Rainbow Drag Show will take place at PG Civic Centre on Saturday July 7th at 7 PM - 2 AM.  Make sure you get tickets at PGpride.tickit.ca  The Drag show will go from 7-10 dance will go from 10-2. This event is 19 +

Artists talk: Clay & Community

ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS!  There is a wonderful opportunity at Omineca Arts Centre and Two Rivers Gallery to meet Jay Kimball on Wednesday July 4th, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Jay Kimball is a craft artist who works in a variety of forms centralized around ceramic processes. Kimball discusses his body of work related to pit fired ceramics and the social impacts.

Bulkley Valley Midsummer Festival!

HOW EXCITING! It is the Midsummer Festival's 35th year in Smithers, BC!  CFUR was able to check out Midsummer while the volunteers were setting up for the festival.  The interviews give you a closer look to all the hard work put into it.  Smithers, BC is a small town in Northern, BC.
