Randi Gardypie's recovered Regalia!
On July 17, Randi Gardypie was re-united with her regalia which was stolen from her two months ago in Prince George. Keith LaRiviere had helped her recover it, even though he was a complete stranger to Randi. It's amazing to hear that there are still good people out there. The Thunder and Eagle Drummers also came out to sing and drum for Randi and Keith!
Youth Academy Day#3
Today, the youth academy learned how to make ID's (a general and dance ID). They learned how to use the board and microphone. It is refreshing to have new ideas pouring into the station.
Youth Academy's Second Day!
The Youth Academy spent the day collecting sounds outside for making sound effects in the studio. What talented youth we have in the community!
Youth Academy is BACK!
The Youth Academy had their first day at Radio Camp on July 16th! They went live on CFURadio! Always a delight to have enthusiastic learners in the studio, especially a new group that has never been in broadcasting! Stay tuned to follow them on their experience with CFUR.
The Burying Ground and BIG Fancy in PG!
JULY 26th
at Omineca Arts Centre from 8 PM to 11 PM
The Burying Ground has a lively and gritty sound with tight harmony and a driving rhythm section reminiscent of the music of the juke joints and jazz halls of the 1920's and '30s. The band moves effortlessly between toe-tapping dance music, the yearning of country blues and the embellishments and energy of ragtime and jazz.
The Burying Ground can be found on their webpage, bandcamp or youtube.
Big Fancy is from Fort Fraser, BC and he plays country, folk and old-time music. Big Fancy is available on FB and instagram. His music is available on Bandcamp. He has two albums out, "Legendary Loser" (2018) and "Hillbilly Recording Artist" (2016).
