Canada Day is this weekend, and there is a lot happening around the city! Here are just some of the things you can check out for Canada's 150!
There will the annual celebrations at the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park including: a 4'x8' birthday cake served, 7 hours of non-stop performances with wide variety of entertainers, Ethnic food concessions , and much more.
Also at the park is the Spike for Kids' Sake, a Beach Volleyball Tournament to help support local children, being put on by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George. More info and registration (for both individuals and teams) can be found HERE
A little farther out of town is Huble Homestead where you can experience a more traditional Dominion Day celebration.
At Spruce City Stadium there will be a Fastpitch tournament being hosted over the long weekend. Teams in the men's division, junior men's division, and women's division will all be competing against their peers with a total of 17 teams competing.
Canada Day also jumpstarts Heatwave, a 8 day celebration of music, happening, with no charge of admission, down at the Canada Games Plaza. Check out the first performance at 7pm.
Finally, you can wrap up your day with fireworks being launched from Connaught hill at 11pm.
