Prince George Will Participate in An International Dance Festival in France

Method Dance Society is pleased to announce that Shelby Richardson, the artistic director, along with three company dancers, Laura Buchanan, Shayla Dyble, and Sloane Zogas, will be embarking on a trip to Europe this week. They will be attending the esteemed International festival 'Camping,' organized by the Centre National de la Danse in Lyon, France.

'Camping' is not just a festival but also an international platform that offers workshops and performances, providing a unique opportunity to connect with artists from the global choreographic scene, while also being open to other artistic domains. It serves as an artistic space where various poetic expressions of dance, theatre, performance, and visual arts come to life.

The festival takes place in Paris, Pantin, and Lyon, with a particular focus on choreographic development for professional dancers and practitioners during the Lyon component. Each year, only 120 participants from around the world are selected to participate in the week-long Lyon program, and they must apply in advance. The chosen dancers will have the privilege of collaborating with renowned choreographers and artists such as Katerina Andreou, Christian Rizzo, Emmanuelle Huynh, and Marco Berrettini.

"We are incredibly excited to have our community's dancers partake in a festival workshop of this caliber. Access to an international platform for creativity is crucial in the growth and development of dance professionals in the North," expressed Shelby Richardson, Artistic Director of Method Dance Society.

The workshop classes will commence on Monday, June 19, and will culminate in a performance on Friday, June 23. The dancers will be documenting their journey and sharing their experiences on social media, so be sure to follow their Instagram page @methoddancesociety to stay updated.
