RCMP inadvertently recovers stolen tools

Recently, the RCMP inadvertently recovered some stolen tools from, “someone who probably didn’t have a reason to have them.” A few thousand dollars worth of items include a power supply, two chainsaws, and a rail cutter. Prior to the seizure, there’s a reasonable chance that these tools could have entered the second hand tool market.

If you are shopping for second hand tools and suspect them to be of dishonest origin, but you’re able to ascertain the serial number, you can ask the RCMP to cross reference it. If an individual happens to purchase stolen property and it is then traced to the new owner, law enforcement will seize that property.

If the tools, recovered on February 2nd happen to be yours, you are invited to stop by the Prince George RCMP detachment on Victoria Street with serial numbers or other identifying features and collect your items.
