GoByBike Week pedals into Prince George-Lheidli T’enneh
Due North

A provincial initiative, GoByBike Week, is active in Prince George–Lheidli T’enneh this week with the support of local sustainability organizations, cycling clubs, businesses, and more.

Urban Director of the Prince George Cycling Club, Tyler Kronebusch, hosted an engagement booth at the University of Northern British Columbia’s (UNBC’s) campus alongside Kyle Ross of UNBC’s Sustainability Office. They informed CFURadio about a number of events so far, including a transit bike rack demonstration, and ones to come this week, like a downtown bike valet service encouraging the use of bike infrastructure downtown. The intention, as Kronebusch describes is, “Zero stress. Just trying to remove the barriers.”

Prizes offer incentive, beyond the snacks at the Celebration Stations, to participate in the logging of two-wheeled ride time. Logged participation is shared by GoByBike BC Society to local governments, helping determine interest in & funding for cycling related programs.
