Sarah Jane Scouten

Bowen Island native, Sarah Jane Scouten, will be bringing her folk roots up to Prince George on Monday, July 17th.

Scouten balances melodies that are reminiscent of traditional folk with outspoken and edgy themes; ranging from homelessness to midwifery to tongue-in-cheek heartache songs and unabashed Canadiana.

She now has three full-length recorded albums that some have described as having flavours of Lucinda Williams, Nanci Griffiths and Iris Dement and a wealth of early country music.

If you want to check out this two-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee you can see her at Nancy O’s. There will be a $12 cover charge for this performance.

Radio Academy Photos

WOAH! It's crazy to think that our second Radio Academy of the summer is already done! This last camp was such a blast (for both the campers and counsellors) and it was amazing to see how quickly the campers caught on to everything, along with how great all of their shows turned out...not to forget all the PSAs, IDs, and Interviews they made.

Below are some photos from the last day of camp, where their shows were recorded and broadcasted on CFUR!
