CFURadio Broadcast-Content & Policy

There have been many conversations lately around the responsibility of community radio, and media more generally on what respectful content means, and how to approach censorship and ethical broadcasting concerns.

When on-air conversation steers into a direction that could be harmful to marginalized or vulnerable members of a community, it is important for a community radio to asses their ethics and how they want to approach where boundaries are to be placed in regards to acceptable on-air content. CFUR's ethos and mandate believes in maintaining a standard of content that is inclusive and respectful to all members of a community.

We are currently having these conversations and will continue to work through what inclusive broadcast means to us as a campus-community radio station. We look forward to the opportunity to revisit and clarify our policies and broader mandate at the upcoming AGM (December 3). We encourage students, audience, and community members to join us.
