CFURadio Youth Academy - Tuning in on July 2nd!

Good Afternoon! 

CFURadio is very excited to announce their 4th annual Youth Academy!!! This camp for youth aged within 14-18 aims to teach teens about podcasting, radio, and media. It is a great summertime opportunity to spend time with positive adult mentors and get adjusted to the world of media!

The camp will run from July 2nd - August 23rd. We're taking registrants now.

Thank you Pop Media for dropping by and capturing the moment! https://www.facebook.com/popmediapg/ For three two-week periods each summer, CFURadio 88.7 FM hosts four campers at a time, trains them in recording arts, provides opportunities to practice broadcast programming, hone techniques, curate according to taste, and culminate these skills into a one hour radio program.

Are you a UNBC Political Science or English student who is interested in Radio? Do you want to earn 3.0 credits along with valuable work experience?

Well then you should check out CFUR’s Current Events Producer Internship!

You get to learn how a journalist thinks, whether you become one or end up talking to one in your career path; gain presentation confidence; Develop oratory and writing skills; and get on-the-job media experience while producing a twice weekly spoken-word program focusing on Northern BC current events.

CFUR has, numerous times, served as a catalyst to jumpstart the careers of a number of successful people.  Some notable alumni are Andrew Kurjata and Jordan Tucker who are now producers for CBC's Daybreak North.The experience they gained at this station helped them greatly in finding future jobs in their field.

Besides, we have lots of fun parties...work hard play hard!

UNBC students brave weather to raise money for homelessness

You may of noticed a group of students sleeping outside at UNBC. This may of made you think, what in the world are they doing? Well, these students are part of a national campaign known as 5 Days for the Homeless. The group at UNBC is raising money for the local society, Community Partners Addressing Homelessness. We reached out to Bridget Russell to find out more about 5 Days and how people can support them.
