The Canada Winter Games have descended upon the Northern Capital of Prince George. It's going to get pretty busy around here for the next couple of weeks! In all the hubbub of athletes arriving, torches being lit, and fireworks going off, it's almost easy to forget about one cherished annual tradition. Specifically, Coldsnap, Prince George's premiere winter music festival, will be taking place over the next couple of weeks. In no particular order, we've listed some of what we consider to be must-see acts, along with location, and price. If we didn't cover your favourite act, let us know!We want to know what you're excited about. Further down, we've also assembled a list of many of our favourite local acts. Go on and get out! By means, this is not an exhaustive list. TELL US WHICH ACTS YOU'RE GOING TO SEE AND CFUR WILL SEE YOU THERE! Check out the full event listings here, at the Canada Games website! Have fun, party safe, make nice friends. <3, CFUR staff.

Tanya Tagaq
TAGAQ! Not sure why we would need to say more. After winning last year's Polaris Prize (her acceptance speech included the rallying cry, "fuck Peta!") Tanya Tagaq is on a roll. She mixes traditional throat singing and modern influences in a haunting manner, making her basically Canada's Bjork. If you miss this show you should probably hate yourself a tiny bit forever.

Lisa Leblanc
Stompy Fiddle-y Country-Rock that will have you dancing and screaming at the sheer power of LeBlanc's vocals. If we make it sound like listening to her tunes is akin to going to one of those churches where people have spasms... well, you should probably just go see her play and prove us wrong.
